Interdisciplinary Humanities Mini-Grants are available for faculty who collaborate on arts & humanities activities at the University of Missouri. The purpose of the Interdisciplinary Humanities Mini-Grants is to boost the signal of successful interdisciplinary research that is already underway, in order to foster a culture of collaboration. Two awards of up to $2500 annually to support interdisciplinary research/creative activity, which may be used for the following:
- invitation to a visiting scholar with related expertise to the research topic
- indexing or other work on a book or recording project that must be outsourced at cost to the author/performer
- collaborative events, performances, or exhibits
- [These funds cannot be used to cover travel expenses for MU faculty members]
Eligibility
Awardees must:
- comprise a team of at least two members with a designated Principal Investigator
- involve at least one tenure-track faculty at the University of Missouri
- have demonstrated substantial interdisciplinary collaboration
- submit a complete proposal that includes (1) a rationale of up to 300 words, (2) the CVs of all collaboration partners, and (3) an estimated budget
Selection Process
The Center for the Humanities Executive Committee will select the awardees of the StudioLabs grants based on the following criteria:
- interdisciplinary range
- potential for concrete results (includes a book or other signature achievement)
- how it supports the missions of the Center, the College, and the University
