Engaging Public Humanities

Join us for lectures, conferences, workshops, and seminars that feature leading scholars, artists, and practitioners addressing urgent issues in the humanities through interdisciplinary collaboration. Our events are free and open to the public. Veterans Humanities Initiative

A Multi-part Series

The Veterans Humanities Initiative is a multi-part series of engagements through the University of Missouri’s Center for the Humanities that seeks to understand and process the veteran experience through creative writing, scholarship, and storytelling.

Consistent with the mission of the Center for the Humanities, the Veterans Humanities Initiative engages with the community by bringing the arts and humanities to populations where arts and humanities don’t traditionally have a prominent role. Through the Veterans Humanities Initiative, the Center for the Humanities fosters an open dialogue with veterans and military-connected individuals by creating programming for them and listening to—and learning from—them.
